How
to take care:
|
| In
captivity, the Coloria Parrot Finch is quite active. This is a
beautiful species that is deserving of special attention. They always need water for bathing and greens, because they only frequently visit the cage or aviary floor. My Coloria Parrot finch get a good finch mix, flour wormes and sproud seed as my other Parrot Finches get. |

Breeding:
|
| Coloria
Parrot Finch can be bred in cages or aviaries without problems, but
this bird ís still quite rare. They accept half-open nestboxes
in which they construct their nest with cocfibre and grass stems. The
nest is usually not lined. There can have up to 3 clutches pr year with 2-3 eggs, which are incubated for 12-13 days, and at 21-23 days old the yellow-beaked babies will leave the nest. At the age of 6 weeks they are independent. At 5 months they have full colour and are sexually mature. Of course this is far too early to let them breed. They have to be at least one year old. |
