Females present. It is not demanding, but needs temperature over 15º otherweise this Bird become passive and bloated. It must have access to sprouted Bigcorned Seed, Finch Seed, Flour Worms, Mosquito Caterpillars and possible Mosquito Cocoons. It likes Cucumber but eats very rarely Fruit. |

active Bird that needs room to fly. Although it can be kept in small
Avairies they will not do as well in them as they are Birds that
appreciates a bit of "room to move". The bigger the Aviary the better
and the more cover the better. It needs
temperature over 15º. In the Night sitting these Birds close
together at the top branches. This Bird is a very active bather. The Food consists of Cuttlebone, Finch Seed, Lettuce, Apples, Pears and Grapes. |

Breeding:
|
| It is a reasonable breed-willingly type,
who needs a Nest Boxe, which is about 15 × 15 cm i
bottum-measure. It can breed in a big Nest basket too. It is a Bird who
does not favour any particular type of nesting receptable as they will
nest in almost anything at all! They fill the Nest receptacle with nesting material that consists course Grasss and line the Nest with burlap, soft fine Grasses and occasionally Feathers. The behaviour of the Male towards the Female can be violently but usually the mating comes out right. The Female lays 4 to 6 Eggs. Incubation takes about 14 days. The Chicks stay in the Nest for about 3 weeks. They have characteristicly blue shining spots in the corners of the Mouth. The Spots act on the Feeding of the yuong Birds from the Adults. In the Breedingtime must the Bird be offered numbers of sprouted Seed. Flour Worms, Mosquito Caterpillars and Mosquito Cocoons. The Chicks coloured up at the age of 3 Months. Since the Blue-faced Parrot Finch is a good breeder, it is often times necessary to seperate the pairs in order to give the Female a rest. |
