Breeding:

It is a reasonable breed-willingly type, who needs a Nest Boxe, which is about 15 × 15 cm i bottum-measure. It can breed in a big Nest basket too. It is a Bird who does not favour any particular type of nesting receptable as they will nest in almost anything at all!
They  fill the Nest receptacle with nesting material that consists course Grasss and line the Nest with burlap, soft fine Grasses and occasionally Feathers. The behaviour of the Male towards the Female can be violently but usually the mating comes out right.
The Female lays 4 to 6 Eggs. Incubation takes about 14 days. The Chicks stay in the Nest for about 3 weeks. They have characteristicly blue shining spots in the corners of the Mouth. The Spots act on the Feeding of the yuong Birds from the Adults. In the Breedingtime must the Bird be offered  numbers of  sprouted Seed. Flour Worms, Mosquito Caterpillars and Mosquito Cocoons. The Chicks coloured up at the age of 3 Months.
Since the Blue-faced Parrot Finch is a good breeder, it is often times necessary to seperate the pairs in order to give the Female a rest.
