Breeding:
|
| In wild nature Yellow-Winged Pytilia live
in
pairs under the breedingtime, and outside the incubation in small
groups. They built their Nest either in dense thickets or in halfopen Nest Boxes/ Nest Baskets. The Nesting material is leaves of Grass and Coconut fibres. Both parties participant in the incubation of the 3 to 4 Eggs. The incubation takes about 12 to 13 days, and when theChicks coming out, must the parents have possibility to feed with eggfood, Mosquito-Cocoons, Meal Worms, Greenflies, Friut Flies, or fly Maggots. If not this Animalfood is present will the Chicks be thrown out of the Nest. The young Birds must have sprouted Seed from the last days in the Nest to they can take care of themselves circa 18 to 21 days after they have left the Nest. At beginning shedding the young Birds has to be removed from the Parents since the old Male gets aggressive to the young Males. |
