How to take care:

In Nature Red-Faced Finch lives in Reeds- and Grassplants. It is a hardy Bird, who is easy to take care of. Red-Faced Finch is peaceful to other Birds. It is best to have this Bird in a planted Avairies or in big Cages.
It must be feeded with Grass-seed, Greenery  and Animalfood, such as Water-insects. For example Mosquito-Caterpillars and Dafnies.

Breeding:

Red-Faced Finch make their Nests in plants in the Avairy or in Nest Baskets.  Nesting material consists often of Grass, Leafs from Bamboos or Elephant-Grass . The Nest lines with Animalhair or Down.
The Hen lays 4 to 6 Eggs and both Parents take part in the incubation, which takes about 14 days.
The Chicks leave the Nest about 3 weeks old. At that time they are Greybraun in the Plumage. They are coloured up at about the Age of 8 Month. The Male takes now over upfeeding , because the Female already  has started with the next Litter.
The Food to the young Birds has to consist of sprouted Seed, halfriped Grass-seed, and a lot of Greeneries . A supplement of Animalfood as for example Water-insects and
Mosquito- cocoons is important too.
